Hello, World!
My name is Kevin Dam and I am a New York based, full-stack software engineer that loves to create beautiful web applications that focus on user experience. When I'm not coding, I am either getting creative in the kitchen, cozying up to a book, or reading up on the latest technology.
My Experience:
I primarily work with JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3, but also have experience with Ruby and SQL. I have also worked with various libraries and/or frameworks such as Rails, React, Redux, MobX and jQuery.
Why Do I Code?
I have been creating and building things for as long as I can remember. At a young age, I learned the art of cooking, crafting meals that brought my family together. During the summers in high school, I enjoyed cultivating my family's backyard garden, patiently nurturing vegetables from seed to crop. At 17, I took my first course in computer science, building simple applications and getting my first taste of coding. Naturally, the builder in me gravitated towards coding, where the possibilities were infinite. To me, it seemed that there were few problems that coding could not help solve. I believe that coding is one of the most powerful tools in the modern era, capable of creating solutions for a myriad of problems. I want to be a part of this innovation, building tools that will connect people, improve lives, and create change. Today, I work at Data Cubed as a lead web developer, where I am hard at work building platform tools that empower clinical and social researchers to collect and manage their data.
